A shoe box, or any smallish box, will store container lids vertically and help prevent lid matching rage, especially after you toss the containers and lids that no longer have mates.  This method also allows storage containers and their lids to be put away in other places than drawers; like a corner cupboard.

A magnetic knife strip is a great way to get the knife block off the counter, and it does not have to be horizontal on a wall, vertical works too.  The knives pictured here are very handy right above the cutting board on the edge of a cupboard.

It’s so nice to have the modern TP roll without the spring insert but I have yet to see one that stays parallel to the floor after installation.  That drives me crazy! The solution, reinstall it vertically.
